Usual office hours:
8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Thursday,
8:00 to 4:00 Friday
I came to Cornell in January of 1996 after a brief period working as an analyst in Ithaca College's Office of
Institutional Research. Prior to that I worked for several years in software development, mainly in the defense contracting
industry in northwest Florida. Currently I supervise and maintain
the computer systems and other equipment in Cornell's Phonetics
Lab, and provide consulting support on computing
and other technological matters to the students and faculty who use the lab. My job is an unusually varied one. I'm
part
computer technician, part audio/video technician, part systems administrator, part webmaster, part network administrator, part programmer, and part lab manager. In general I
do whatever I can to support the lab and to keep things running as they should, and to help the users of the lab to be
more productive. I'm also the system administrator for the Sun computers in the Computational Linguistics Lab, and the webmaster for the department of Linguistics.
